WA Solar Schools Program Update

Please note that until national energy policy matters related to RECs and the proposed introduction of the Solar Credits mechanism are resolved, schools are required to retain and not trade the RECs made available through the WA Solar Schools Program until further advised by SEDO.

Eligibility

• This program is available to all WA primary, middle and high schools.
• Non-government schools must be registered by the Minister of Education under the School Education Act 1999 and must be non-profit.

Rebates

• Solar Power systems with an installed generating capacity of at least 950W will provide up $12,500 (ex GST) for metropolitan schools.
• Up to $13,000 (ex GST) for regional schools.
• Funding is available for both new systems and additions to existing systems.
• For additions to existing systems the school must not have previously received funding from SEDO for that particular system.
