Solar & Heat Pump Hot Water Rebate

Hobart City Council has introduced a new Solar & Heat Pump Hot Water Rebate Scheme, offering a $500 incentive to install a solar or heat pump hot water system into their homes.

The rebate is a one-off payment of $500 per solar and heat pump hot water system for Hobart ratepayers who are ineligible for Council's current planning and building administration fee rebate. 

To qualify, you must:-

• have purchased and installed the solar hot water system between 1st July 2007 and 31st December, 2011 or for the heat pump hot water system between 1st November, 2008 and no later than the 31st December, 2011.
• be an owner-occupier of the property.
• replace an existing electric storage hot water system and be eligible for at least 20 RECs at the time and place of installation.
• install the system on the property which is located within the City of Hobart.
• installation must be made by a registered plumber.
• adequate receipt's will be required for proof.
