Energy Efficient Development RebateThe Hobart City Council offers a 100% rebate on Council's basic planning fee, the building and plumbing administration fees - where sound and permanent energy efficient principles and features are incorporated into the planning and design of new houses and additions to existing houses. It is important to recognise that the qualifying criteria are not always possible to achieve for various reasons:-

Rebates are paid following final building inspections where a certificate of completion will be issued. Once this is achieved complete the application form and forward it to: Energy Efficient Development Rebate Scheme, Development Planning Unit, Hobart City Council, GPO Box 503, Hobart, 7001. Please note that shadow diagrams are required to demonstrate compliance. Orientation: 2 pointsThe building faces north between 15 degrees to north-west and 30 degrees to north-east. Living Areas: 2 pointsLocation 60% of all Living Areas are located on the northern side of the building. Living Areas include, lounge, kitchen, dining, family and study. Solar Hot Water Systems: 6 pointsCertified solar hot water systems have been installed 5 Star National House Energy RatingDevelopment is 5 Star National House Energy Rated, certified by a qualified person.
